This is the worst England cricket team in over 70 years, with poor management, poor leadership & clueless tactics. Established players such as Keaton Jennings, Sam Cook & Liam Dawson must ask what they have to do to get picked - all 3 would have walked in to the XI at the Oval

Chris Stocks is right to mention Ollie Pope's deficiencies as a no 3 bat. His record speaks for itself and at best he is a middle order batter. No 3 is where the great players have traditionally batted and Pope is definitely not one of them.

@theipaper Chris Stocks' comments about Ollie Pope are not before time. He is completely unsuitable as a number 3 bat. The Australians must be licking their lips at the prospect of bowling at our first 3 batters while we waste the opportunity to blood others in the top order.
