He has always been a great PP bowler, had a couple of bad seasons at SRH and also had injury concerns. But he went back to the drawing board improved his death bowling and the results are for everyone to see. Really happy to see him perform well.
You can question & debate around Kohli the IPL captain but there is no debate about Kohli being the greatest batsman in terms of stats & impact in the IPL. He has been the most consistent batsman & also has improved his SR which lot of people criticised in the past.
A 500 run season in IPL is considered great.
So far, 23 players hv multiple 500+ seasons.
If u score 500 runs every season from 2008 to 2025, you still end up short of Kohli’s IPL runs.
I still cannot digest that a person with so much hunger and passion for the game retired first from test cricket which was his personal favourite format.
When Harsha Bhogle sir was reviewing the teams before the start of the tournament he mentioned about Mukul Choudhary of LSG. And today he showed why he is rated so highly, such great wrists and bat swing. Won a lost match single handedly.

We have to really appreciate the temperament of Sanju Samson, from not being in the 1st choice XI at the start of the World Cup to now taking us to the SFs single handedly. Many complained that he didn’t make his opportunities counts but yesterday he grabbed it with both hands.
@cricketingview I thought the same, the guy doesn’t seem to have plan B. I was happily surprised to see how Dube came in, understood the bowlers plans and hit two important boundaries. On the other hand Hardik got out wild slogging to a full toss.
It is crazy how 2 months back no one was even talking about Ishan Kishan & today he looks like the best batsman in the T20 XI. You have to appreciate Ishan for putting in the hard yards in domestic cricket and also the selectors for picking him in World Cup Squad on form.
You have to appreciate Bumrah to stay at the crease for 54 balls, but you have to question Jadeja if he could have taken more risk to score a few more. There is no way India was going to win by blocking all day.

Another difficult loss to digest, this is similar to edgbaston test. The bowling looked toothless in the final innings, in hindsight I feel we gave away the advantage while we were batting in the 2nd innings. We should have scored another 40-50 runs and declared.

Collapses and Indian team has become so common, almost every match when we are in a commanding position and it is time to consolidate we have a collapse. 333/5 to 349/9. This match is still pretty open for all three results.
