So other reasons at play here than simplistic explanations.

1) close to the wicket, so no room to work with
2) gets unusual cut with short ball both ways
3) difficult to judge his pace (pinged Smith & Marnus as Lords no less)

So yes he will likely do well against most.

Difficult being a high impact player in India, where ‘every roadside expert’ will count failures.
Harder bit will be to keep the intent and focus on winning power play for the team.

@NikhilNaz pls let your colleague Sid know that Samson has many more weaknesses than Vaibhav. I’m sure he remembers working over tht Archer gave to Samson in India.
Vaibhav is the future & to be groomed for long term. He needs to have 20-30 T20Is under his belt before the next WC

@1_3Aadz Only guy I’m not sure about is Ishan in Aus. Plus Ind are a batter short, dube & axar are playing 1 position higher. When Hardik/NKR are not around, I would rather play Samson at 5 in this team instead of Rana & hope to get 4 overs out of Abhishek, Tilak & Dube. Atleast bat long.

@vikrantgupta73 Tillak has a place in place of shivam dube in my XI. If Dube is rushed in Eng, whats going to happen in Aus? And less said about his liability on the field better.
Although Tilak has to be able to bowl 1-2 overs/ match. If Jacks, Markram, Philips can, he must to hold his place.
