Before there could be a resurrection, there had to be a crucifixion.
Before there could be joy, there had to be pain.
Before there could be communion, there had to be a breaking and a pouring out.
Jesus accepted an invitation of victory when He said yes to the cross. He determined that the joy set before Him was worth the greatest sacrifice of Himself. What did He see in that joy? I’d propose that He saw your divine destiny, He saw your life in the fullest form, He saw your hopes and your dreams fulfilled. He saw the magnificent, glorious celebration of eternal life with the Father on the other side of the cross. Yet, He also saw your pain, your disappointment, and the consequences of sin, and with the joy set before Him, He chose to lay himself down on the cross so that you wouldn’t have to pay the cost. He chose the piercing pain of Friday so that we could enjoy the endless victory of Sunday!
No matter what you are going through today, the Lord has a resurrection plan in store for you. I want to encourage you this Good Friday to ask the Lord for resurrection vision - what does He want to see revived and restored in your life? What joy does He want to invite you into? Ask Him to show you the beautiful plans He has for your present and your future.
God bless you!

@WilliamMatt22@JPhilm38 It was a direct response to 9/11. A predominately ran Taliban govt was asked to turn over Al Qaeda officials and when they denied the request force was used. Then NAITO got involved and with US began to establish a democracy and new social norms for women.
