I've sadly neglected this account, but the last year has been brutal in quite a few ways (but good in others). I've caught up a bit, but today is a partial day off to maybe go to an exhibition of magic at Bristol City Museum and let Whatley Mammoth (@UBSSmuseum) out to play.
@sheilab10 You're welcome! Without Arnold, the site wouldn't exist. Back in the day when I started as UK editor with US/UK site ReviewingtheEvidence, it was Arnold who gave me the confidence to make a go of it, and so much has stemmed from that. Then later, we blame @KerryHood1, of course!
My Day in the Life of a Book Reviewer is at an end. No idea what audience reaction has been as not had time to check all day, but at least I will be able to refer to this when people wonder what I do all day. This is not my day job and yes, I do still enjoy what I do. #books

In response to a minor twitter storm. I'm going to tweet a Day in the Life of a Crime Fiction Reviewer... It's not intended to judge or inflame, just inform. For added info, I am very, very tired, but want to get my 'jobs' done today so I can relax later. #BookReview
@gingerlizzard@Shotsblog @raven_oak @ReadtoRamble@matociquala@neilhimself@ChuckWendig It's such a minefield, I do agree. But I have known authors who seem to glory in getting other people to do their work for them and that's something I do have problems with. It's all experience dependant, and dealing with 40 reviews a fortnight for several years skews my views
@stephycha@lartonmedia@bigtitch We basset's struggle with weight. That one had probably just cocked its leg inappropriately. Le basset etait aussi deprime, pauve basset. OK, that's my Franglais for the morning. I'm very tempted by that basset on a teeshirt!
@Deltab0b@matociquala It means that if I take the trouble, when I'm exhausted/ unhappy/whatever to help publicise someone else's book, then I expect at least politeness in return If someone is rude to me, I am less likely to help. There is a lot of rudeness about btw.
