Besides model improvements, it was a smart move to make the UX a chat bot. They make more money (charging by input/output token count), more context improves results, plus it's more familiar to users.

I fed GPT-3 some study guides from my 11th grade files and it got all their questions correct.

Its answers for World History in particular were beautifully succinct. It even generated additional questions. Wonder how teachers (and cheaters) will use it in the future.
