As biased algorithms are increasingly used to make decisions, data protection is important for protecting the rights of marginalised groups, including migrants, LGBTQ people and people from racialised backgrounds. @RaceJustice have signed our open letter to scrap the #DPDIBill
@BootsHelp I've been constantly ringing your Bradley Stoke store since half nine this morning and no answer. They've had my prescription since 16th December and I run out today. Is there any other way of contacting them aside from going to the store since I can't go myself?
@notwaving I agree 100%. It's definitely a bureaucracy thing. Especially as diabetes for example has so many symptoms/comorbid things. How can a GP say a skin infection for example was/wasn't caused by it. And even getting the exemption card is a nightmare of paperwork and appointments
@notwaving The list hasn't been updated in decades either (I think it was the 1960s when it was drawn up but don't quote me). It's an outdated system that needs overhauling but is always "not a priority" 🙄
Bristol City Council are encouraging everyone to travel by bus to ease congestion and save the environment. How are we meant to do that when @FirstBSA cancel every other route and a 20 minute car journey takes 2 hours by bus if you're lucky.
@FirstBSA Hi there. It was the Bristol city centre stop headed towards Cribbs. There's been a major problem with buses going in and out almost every day. Appreciate there's a deficit of staff but surely something can be done to make the service more reliable
Stood on the stop at the centre for 45 mins now. @FirstBSA why have there been eight M3 buses but only one M1 which was so packed it was borderline dangerous? Cutting bus frequency was meant to stop this but it's gotten worse. How is my disabled ass meant to get home safely?
Sorry to repeat myself, but you *really* need to know this.
Under the government's Public Order Bill, anyone who has protested in the previous 5 years can be forced to "submit to ... being fitted with, or the installation of, any necessary apparatus" to monitor your movements.
@mikegalsworthy I am once again asking liberals to understand that Brexit was a *symptom* of the shit the country was in prior to 2016 and not the fucking *cause* just because *you* started noticing the fucking effects.
🎉Happy Birthday @BBC on your 100th birthday! When you were founded we had a King, no one knew if they could afford to put their heating on and we'd just lived through a global pandemic. Times really do change!
@pijrrh @ewshesafeminist Hello! Yes I am still around and making! Vanished off the earth for a while to write my dissertation and recover from being ill but I'm here now 😊
@BlondeHistorian Reading is one of the worst stations for this. Going to and from when visiting home during holidays was a nightmare because I just never knew if I was going to get the help I requested or not. Sad to see things haven't improved since I left
Amir Locke had barely opened his eyes when he was executed by a Minneapolis Police officer. He was 22 years old. And now, because of the violent, unchecked, and unreformed behavior of our city’s police, his life has been taken.
Also why SHOULD we have to surrender good things in life? Why do people have to give up things that make life enjoyable and pleasurable for the sake of housing security. We should be able to have both. Scrounging to survive isn't how we should live
I live at home. I don't have a gym membership. I haven't had a holiday in over five years. The only time I've ever been unemployed is August 2020-August 2021 and worked temp jobs in between. I put aside money with every paycheck. I still can't even afford a deposit to rent.
Young people could afford to get on the property ladder if they gave up luxuries such as their gym membership and foreign holidays and looked at cheaper areas, according to Kirstie Allsopp https://t.co/eG3Yt5JItY
I've done the maths. The way things are I will *never* be able to have my own home. How out of touch and privileged is this Tory to think that we have disposable income to even pay for these things.
