In the Summer of 2019 in an attempt to
Keep the core 4 together Toronto would send Patrick Marleau and his 6.25 million dollar cap hit to Carolina. To sweeten the deal they added in their 1st round pick in the following year’s draft. Marleau never played a game for Carolina but the “undersized” kid they’d use that 13th overall pick on would force his way into the lineup the following year and would quickly become one of the faces of not just the Hurricanes but the entire NHL. Jarvis with his reckless abandon style on the ice and goofball antics off the ice wasted no time winning over the hearts of the Canaics. Jarvis embodies the “judge him by his size at your own peril” mentality this team has become known for. As we’ve discussed before the top line took a good while to really click in the playoffs but Seth’s overtime winner in game 2 of the finals was one of the biggest in franchise history. Jarvis is now an established core player on this team. A team that hoisted the #stanleycup this season and has no reason to be satisfied with just the one. Treat yourselves to some candy, it’s what Jarvy would want.
