This is the inevitable consequence of relying solely on private developers. They stop buuilding when profits are under threat.

I am pleased to report, at today’s meeting of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, approval was given for work to begin on the development of a plan for an underground system for Manchester. 🐝
Today I handed in my petition for a wealth tax, backed by over 80,000 people, to Downing Street.
The campaign for a wealth tax is growing from strength to strength.
Together, we will win this!
📅Tomorrow is the final vote of the Government's disastrous Universal Credit Bill
Crips Against Cuts have created this MP email template - let's flood their inboxes and do everything in our power to make this vote fail tomorrow! #BinUCBill

Under Gandhi’s statue. For holding placards.
A priest, a professor, medics - arrested for peaceful protest.
This is not about terrorism. It’s about silencing dissent - and it’s leading us down an ever darkening path.
Time for a fundamental rethink of the Mental Health Bill
❌There is no adequate research that involuntary detention/forced treatment is effective - in fact, it is often traumatic.
🫂We need person-centred care, without carcerality.

Today I’ve submitted an Amendment to stop the remaining £2 billion cut in the Disability Cuts Bill.
The Universal Credit Health cut will hit 750,000 sick and disabled people - costing them £3,000 a year.
We should not balance the books on the backs of sick and disabled people.
The Government’s passing of their benefit cuts agenda shows the deep disdain for Disabled people.
Despite attempts to silence us, through our collective campaigning, we made them drop billions of cuts, and we will continue to resist this disastrous bill.
The GM Disabled People's Panel shows the commitment made to disabled people and our organisations that @AndyBurnhamGM has made. He knows the UC and PIP Billl is the wrong approach and must be voted down.
Labour MP for Sheffield Hallam Olivia Blake is disabled but was turned down for PIP, she opposes the disability cuts because she knows how bad the system is now, will only get worse with the proposed bill. https://t.co/TPz4kBbYSI
"I think they are taken aback by the opposition that's come from their backbenchers, which is a reflection of the public mood"
@FisherAndrew79 on the governments planned cuts to disability benefits.
"The government’s own impact assessment suggests that 250,000 disabled people (and 50,000 more children) will be driven into poverty.
"Ultimately, any MP that votes to do that deserves to lose their seat at the next election"

Railroading controversial legislation through without scrutiny or consultation is incredibly arrogant
The Government ploughing ahead not only with 2nd reading next Tue, but then the committee stage, report & third reading all in 1 day a week later
It's a massive f*** you to MPs
We spoke on @LBCNews today about our newly released polling results that found the public overwhelmingly DO NOT support the benefit cuts.
It's not about concessions, the bill needs to be gone.
