as an anthropologist, one of my specialisations is authoritarianism & revolutionist practice in response to it

one of my research foci for is the social processes of a society's descent into authoritarianism

For regular non-traumatic grief, it can take about a year to get through the worst of the grief. Complicated grief takes longer

Disability comes with struggling with hygiene at least some of the time. If you say that you support disabled people but make fun of people for that, you don’t really support disabled people.

3) insensitive. We know what the risk vs reward is for us on individual level and have to often assess this daily. We know what the reward is SUPPOSED to be for working out but for many of us that’s not the case.

2) aren’t rewarded in the same way. We are actually oftentimes punished for working out or even doing basic things like showering or cleaning. We can end up in a flare, in more pain, or with a worsened baseline. This is why continuing to tell us to workout can be so

1) I think generally healthy/abled people often feel better when they workout so they offer this advice to chronically ill/disabled people thinking we will get the same results. The harsh reality is that a lot of chronically ill/disabled/chronic pain patients

Completely heartbroken at the passing of Micka, who I had the absolute privilege of getting to move with and observe over the years of my research. What a force, I will carry her energy with me in all my dances ☄️

It is with immense sadness that Candoco receives the information that former company dancer and dance artist, Mickaella Dantas has passed away peacefully on the 10th of February 2024 with her parents by her side, after a long battle against cancer.
