Growing the real productive capabilities of crypto will ultimately be the only thing that gets us to the moon. The point at which working for a dao beats working for a corporation = wagmi
I can't wait :)
@SuddenlyHazel @CoolPineapple18 have been thinking about a service that would combine an email-like message service but have plug-ins for interacting with different DeFi services, smart contracts. You could receive upcoming DAO proposals and vote , enter an escrow contract etc right from your inbox
@EasyStevie_e @kylpeacock @EftychiosT yeah, i guess the point i was trying to make is that the NNS could have an on-chain legal system that involved humans as well. There are promising projects trying to build proof of personhood on-chain, you probably would need that
@EasyStevie_e @kylpeacock @EftychiosT Our current courts fundamentally rely on human decision making. Could you make a dispute resolution "court" extension of the NNS? pay people ,"jurors" to resolve escrowed tokens in "cases". maybe not applicable to what you want to do
@ICP_OG the regulatory pressure will fall on the dfinity foundation, which right now has enough power in the nns to remove a canister. It won't always hold that power though, soon enough one group alone will be not able to remove canisters
@ICP_OG this is my point though, the IC is distributed across many many countries, a single country could only (probably) remove data centers in its jurisdiction, which would not remove the canister.
Thinking of a streaming service for the IC that doesn't charge any $.
User just lets the service hold some of their assets. Assets are lent out to produce yield that supports the service. When you're tired of the service you just take your $ back. Anyone doing this model?
@ICP_OG I would also vote to legalize drugs in the country i live in, but (shockingly) i've never been asked to participate in our democracy in a meaningful way. Looking forward to the NNS pushing forward global liquid democracy
@ICP_OG This is why the NNS is so cool. It doesn't get enough credit as the radical experiment with democracy that it is.
I for one think that drugs should be legal, so i wouldn't personally vote to remove a drug market that was safe for its users.
@ICP_OG very curious to see how it will play out. Something tells me the community would not shut down a drug market or an illegal music streaming service, but would shut down other, more sinister illegal sites. guess we will find out
