You may be going through a painful season right now. You may be raising children on your own, or going through a divorce, or walking through a season of illness. Recognize that it’s a season. It’s where God has you right now, and He wants to use everything in this season to keep you moving toward His purpose for your life.
THE SECRET TO A STRONG MARRIAGE
It's not a perfect husband.
It's not a perfect wife.
It's two imperfect people who keep choosing God, forgiveness, and each other.
Put God in the center, and let prayer be the foundation.
Lots of marriages have died because couples believed the myth that they needed a fresh start with somebody new ... when what they really needed was a fresh start with each other.
If you don't like how the Bible says these are sins:
• Filthy language (Col. 3:8)
• Getting high or drunk (1 Pet. 5:8; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
• Dressing immodestly (1 Tim. 2:9-10)
Then your problem is with God, not Christians, because He's the one who wrote the Bible (2 Tim. 3:16).
The prodigal gets most of the attention.
His older brother scares me more.
You can stay home, obey the rules and quietly resent grace every time it is given to somebody worse than you.
Things that DON'T get you to Heaven:
• Going to church
• Praying "the prayer"
• Reading the Bible
• Being a good person
What DOES get you to Heaven:
• Genuinely repenting and trusting in Jesus alone for your salvation
Above all, I pray you never lose your hunger to seek the Lord and stay in His presence. I pray that the fire in your bones keeps burning. I pray you remain steadfast and faithful until He comes🔥
Please pray for my community here in Idaho, especially Twin Falls and the families of those who were killed and injured in the mass shooting.
Please speak out for common sense gun reform so that we don’t have to keep living through perpetual gun violence like this.
Our drug of choice these days is knowing who we are better than.
Comparison gives us a quick hit of relief. Find someone who is doing worse, and we feel superior. Find someone who is doing better, and we feel small. Either way, we remain trapped on the scoreboard.
When I say God, I mean Jesus.
Not the universe, not energy, not luck, not positive vibes, not manifestation...
I mean Jesus Christ, the son of God, crucified for my sins, buried, risen on the third day, and reigning forever.
One of the most powerful things I’ve learned to do when the enemy tries to convince me that I’m without hope is to declare the Word of God out loud.
I call on God’s hope when I recall His truth. When I express God’s truth, I depress the enemy’s lies.
When you go through a disappointment, you could be upset, bitter, but when you overflow with hope, you know that what was meant for harm God is turning to your advantage. Weeping may endure for a night, but you know joy is coming.
