@AnthonyLPerry1@fjmendez@Dr_Wobbegong@SimsYStuart@StuartHameroff He blocked me, but if anyone is reading this, it is accurate. He's a self directed researcher with a high school diploma using ai to pump out fake papers and self publishing them. Being on Google scholar means nothing if you are just adding your own papers to your account
@fjmendez@Dr_Wobbegong@SimsYStuart@StuartHameroff I am not opposed to this theory and welcome new experiments that attempt to prove it. It would be an amazing discovery but saying this theory is true currently requires a leap of faith
@StuartHameroff It's fair to advocate for it, but it's not fair to act like the science is settled. Until you can demonstrate a non classical microtubule state in living neurons, use it to track conscious states AND recover the collapse timing predicted by Penrose, then there's still work to do.
@fjmendez@Dr_Wobbegong@SimsYStuart@StuartHameroff There is no test to determine if these quantum effects are the mechanism for conscious experience. We have tests to prove quantum effects exist, and we have shown anesthesia alters microtubule behavior, but there is no test to determine if these are responsible for consciousness
@Dr_Wobbegong@SimsYStuart@StuartHameroff Saying consciousness derives from quantum effects seen in microtubules IS hand wavy and half assed. Its untestable, there is no mechanism for why quantum effects are necessary for conscious experience, and quantum effects of microtubules aren't even agreed upon in the literature.
@MinuteofZombie@FrancMilburn@usairforce@USNavy Coulthart says a lot of things
It's hard to believe they would fuck up that bad and have to retreat from Fravor. I don't buy for a second that was on purpose by LM to test it's capabilities against the F/A-18
@SimsYStuart@StuartHameroff The point is to discover the origin of subjective experience. It doesn't matter if you are a human or a fly, but what is the exact mechanism of awareness?
I am not sold on orch-or either
@Mr_BenPrime It's tough to say without having one in front of me to study. I will say that if they were in a constant state necrosis it would probably be more visibly obvious like patchy skin with parts of it in varying levels of decomposition
