@RMHUCLANEPHRO @Shill_Addin @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough I mean everything, see patient, pre-op, develop plan, induce, monitor, treat, emergence. In the morning he would wake up and sign charts as if medical direction. This was fraud, and I decided I wouldn’t be part of it. Either bill QZ for medical supervision or do your job.
@RMHUCLANEPHRO @Shill_Addin @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough In that I can agree. Don’t know if ur familiar with the intricacies of an Anesthesia care team. Thing is, it’s not really a team, it’s a dictatorship. Can’t count how many times I was working hard in OR overnight doing everything while attending sleeping through it all.
@RMHUCLANEPHRO @Shill_Addin @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough You just haven’t realized that you don’t hold any power yet. I’m 100% content with my work as a independent high level practitioner. I’d work for minimum wage before being subservient to another healthcare provider. I was trained to be independent, and will continue to do so.
@Shill_Addin @PPP_Physicians @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough Don’t pretend this is about patient safety. CRNA’s have been delivering safe anesthesia for over a century. Be truthful to yourself... this is about lining your pockets with cash in most cases thanks to a hard working CRNA in the room. When seconds count... we are already there.
@Shill_Addin @PPP_Physicians @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough You keep telling yourself that and drinking the koolaid they sold you on in medical school. The ACT model is unsustainable in the future healthcare scenario. Economics will make sure of that. 😉 More and more practices have been squeezing out your precious stipends. Wait and see.
@Shill_Addin @PPP_Physicians @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough Rural America hospitals run primarily by all CRNA anesthesia groups would strongly disagree. If it were unsafe or not in our blood we would have been ousted a long time ago.
@Shill_Addin @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough What I don’t want is to spend 12 years of my life training for something that can be learned in 8. Can’t help if you are a slow learner. I’m am 100% happy being a CRNA. How about you let practice and competition determine the market and stop worrying about our market share.
@Shill_Addin @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough I’m doing fine as a CRNA and wouldn’t have it any other way. Have you seen the quality of physicians lately? What standards? 🤣 I literally have thought numerous physicians blocks or have re done their poor work because they were agonizing in PACU.
@RobbyBoy1968 @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough It’s wise to have colleagues that can add to your knowledge and enrich your clinical experience. Not someone to direct your every move and dictate your practice. There’s a difference.
@NrsHolly@amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough It’s easy to come to this conclusion if your years as a OR nurse have been in a restrictive care team model. Work in a all CRNA group hospital and you will see no difference in the delivery of care.
@kevbergz @amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough I’ve worked without an MDA for the last 5 years. When something goes wrong, I look to myself for resolving the issue. My judgement and problem solving hasn’t failed me yet. I have during these years, been called to help physician anesthesiologists with their problems.
@amytownsendmd@EMARIANOMD@RUBraveEnough You’re right Amy! Everyone supports this... they might lie to your face and say they don’t agree and love working under “stupirvision”, but in reality they hate sometimes having a worse clinician tell them how things should be done for the millionth time.
@Ronin1809 @rekhakuttikat Many call because it’s protocol or mandated. They are fearful that it will impact their JOBS. You know we can do this or our own (and we already do), we know that you know that we can. Economics will level the playing field. Stay right there...😉
@Ronin1809 @rekhakuttikat And that is the secret to the illusion that your presence is necessary. In my painful 2 years working in a ACT, the only negative on my yearly review was (does not call for assistance). I always worked through the problems as would any other provider in solo care. ACT is fraud!
@CNotlof I’ve been flying that 767 for the last 5 of the 7 years I’ve been in practice without a co-pilot. With or without complications I’ve landed safely every time. You have an inflated idea that your training can somehow help you resolve problems I can’t. Just took you longer to fly.
