@shinesobrights1 Why are Marquez/MotoGP fans (me being both btw) so pressed about any comparisons that have zero bad intentions? Some of you recently went mental when Horner compared him and Max, now this. Like, chill, it's just recognizing greatness from both sides, not a rivalry...
@KaoS_Bluey@f1statsguru Wrong, check it yourself. Pole isn't fastest lap in quali, it's a position from which you start and that's how it was credited throughout entire history (excluding early sprint formats which f-ed up some stats, but that's irrelevant in this case).
@CDeHarde You can't expect every junior champ to become a great in the big league. Linus should be there, but in general, especially in recent years, these are great numbers.
@alejandrogil017 I don't think this change is a downgrade, but I think it's a missed opportunity to do something in this style (I didn't make these, but that's something I'd go for)
@UnracedF1 Thanks for a reminder! Lky Sunz was such a mockery, their promo video and statements were pure BS. Craig Pollock's Formula Equal that was supposed to have the same number of men and women in the team (and was allegedly sponsored by Saudi's government!) was also quite amusing.
@matoxley Brutal side of any pro sport's top level. It's all about performance - the reason for it's lack doesn't matter. Rins unfortunately had his fair share of injuries since the start of his GP career. It could've been better without them for sure, but there's no time for comeback now.
@bcschneider53 Dignity and respect are dying terms. Recently I saw some stupid YT thumbnail in a video about MotoGP deaths which basically mocks those people with some goofy caricatures based on it, utterly disgusting. Only click they got from me was on the report button.
@TheMrLouis19@JustJoshingF1 It's not exactly the same. As a lot of things in motorsport history, it's not so straightforward. As I said, it's fine to look at it like that, but it also makes perfect sense to separate GP2/F2 from all that (especially as F2 and F3000 before 1996 weren't a spec series).
@TheMrLouis19@JustJoshingF1 It was European F2. I mean, you can look at it like a predecessor to modern F2 and combine records, it's not wrong IMO, but the OP talks about GP2/F2 - obviously only post-2005. Official records even separate today's F2 and GP2, which I'd say is too much as they used same cars.
