@YeraldiLoera It brings me joy to see that the government officials are giving Jonathan and the CRC their full support. We will work together to find out what is causing this pollution crisis in New River and what changes need to be made to put a stop to it.
Even with preliminary data from the last 2 years, there is still so much work to do. I hope that working with Jonathan and the CRC can get the people of Orange Walk and the city government the answers that they deserve in order to help put a stop to this crisis.
CRC Biologist Jonathan Triminio met with the Orange Walk Town Council to present the prelim findings of the New River project. While Year 2 of this comes to an end, there is a lot more work to be done, and collaborating with the local Gov’t is key for the success of this project.
@s_pooley I feel you on that one. Still so difficult to watch anything with my father in it. Hearing people tell me about the man he was to them is much easier and feels better afterwards.
@doc_tellez I learned critical thinking skills from the back of a crocodile. Is that not how everyone does it? If you can critically think with unsecured jaws and communicate to your team while engaging and controlling the crowd, you can do it anywhere imo
@CrocResCoal Congratulations! You have all built something special in only 7 short years. Love all the great work you do for the people and animals of Belize.
We are hiring a full-time Coastal Scientist at @BHIConservancy - apply by 1/15. Barrier island based fieldwork: water quality, wildlife conservation. Please share! https://t.co/4i79tN9ceO
It's finally out! Glad we found a place where we could work on this type of project. Thank you to everyone that made this possible. I hope it can help inform both scientists and citizens to the potential dangers of #PFAS as well as contribute to future research.
Excited to share the hard work of my lab and the many community collaborators that made this study possible!@TcGuillette @Toxic_PhD @croc_fit
Alligators exposed to ‘forever chemicals’ show autoimmune impacts: study https://t.co/XRpsb12fRz
@Toxic_PhD @TcGuillette@BelcherLabNCSU Love you brother, thank you for all the hard work in the field and lab to create this. This paper means so much to me for so many reasons. We made some priceless memories together that I will always treasure.
@crocparasites13 I'm glad to see you feel this way. After I got back from living in Africa where I "dropped out of school" while dad worked on cross, I came back and they offered to skip me 2 years. Smart, curious children only need a library and parents dedicated to helping them learn.
@crocparasites13 Congratulations to the CRC and Jonathan! I'm so glad that you are bringing attention to the devastation that is happening in New River. The local animals and people deserve better.
Really happy to share our first alligator paper! 🐊🐊🐊🐊 #OneHealth assessment of Hg in NC vs FL 🐊🐊🐊🐊 Highly variable site specific high mercury accumulation Step 1 in understanding risks of highly complex mixtures! @AlligatorRobb @SciKylie @croc_fit https://t.co/1VkfcKDyd2
@Toxic_PhD @SciKylie @BelcherLabNCSU @HannahStarnes4 @Zachm999 Given her age, sex and location I think it is highly likely. She was out in the main part of the lake instead of in her fortress. We have the scutes so can confirm if we get a hatchling scute clipping.
@Kelly_Kenoyer Yes, this is maddening. Much like the USPS buying 10 million 6.4 mpg mail vehicles because they don't have the money fir all electric. Simple solution, go hybrid.
