Bahrain is covering a lot of the burdens associated with hosting the race in Malaysia hence the naming. Not the 1st time of course that a race is named after a country other than the one that the GP is taking place in

BREAKING: Formula 1 has added Malaysia to its 2026 schedule as the host of the Bahrain Grand Prix that was postponed earlier in the season.

The event, which will see Malaysia host a race for the first time since 2017, is scheduled to take place from October 2-4.
