It’s kinda funny we got two horrors flicks of male protagonist who rather live in personal hells and diluted themselves into thinking they have no flaws. Only to learn their lesson and die because it was too late for them while the women are left traumatized by their actions.
yes. and there’s also a correlation between survival mode and not wanting to dress well, adorn yourself, do self care, do your hair, nourish yourself. you just don’t have energy to care about beauty and sensuality because your nervous system is busy keeping you safe.
One of my wildest #Obsession theories is that One wish Willow doesn't actually targeted Nikki first but bear
okay so here the thing the entity inside Nikki says "my cat died" before correcting herself. Nikki had zero connection to that cat. so where did that come from. it came from Bear. his grief, his loss, his emotional memory.
The Willow doesn't reach outward and possess someone. it reaches inward into the wisher first, takes everything they love, fear, associate with the person they want, and then constructs something from that and places it inside the target that's why Wish Nikki waits by the door for hours with nothing to do when Bear leaves.
she has no independent existence because she wasn't built from Nikki's personality. she was built from Bear's desire. and desire has no programming for absence.
she doesn't know Nikki. she knows Bear. from the inside.

The phone call is the moment Bear's entire character falls apart.
He spends the whole movie claiming he loves Nikki, yet the first time he's offered a chance to speak to the real Nikki, he hangs up.
Because deep down, he already knows she doesn't love him 💔
people call it burnout like it’s a bad week..
fuck no girl, I mean neurodivergent burnout.
the “can’t make a phone call, questioning who you are, tiredness that a years worth of sleep can’t cure, executive dysfunction holding me in a chokehold” kind.. and I masked through it all for YEARS..
