@ghimiob39@nexta_tv We can compromise with Russia, let them have Ukraine, drop the whole idea of Ukraine or Georgia joining NATO, and ensure them that the Baltics and Poland though still part of NATO will not be host to US forces or US missile batteries. That's sensible imo
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv Things like the "no-fly zone" nonsense, the "let's send some jets into Ukraine" nonsense and now the "let's send Polish peacekeepers" nonsense
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv Sure, Ukraine can resist all they want that's perfectly fine, i'm not opposed to that if that's what they want (though i'd prefer if the their army was voluntary) my issue is with the idea of NATO involvement
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv I'm not arguing that Putin is a good guy, i'm arguing that it's far too early to get NATO involved or to entertain nuclear war as a possible outcome of this particular Ukraine mess. Let Russia have Ukraine and then we'll see what they do
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv Sure, superpowers tend to do that, Hong Kong was also forced to accept direct rule from Beijing and we didn't do anything about it, because at some point when entertaining massive nuclear wars you need to weigh the pros and the cons
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv Poland is not under any threat of re-joining the USSR, but Ukraine might need to re-join the Russian sphere for there to be peace. If that's the case so be it and let the borders between NATO and Russia be finally and clearly defined for lasting peace
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv This is why until a few weeks ago everyone jointly recognized the infamous "neocons" as evil people who were more than willing to provoke and foster war after war around the world to install pro USA governments everywhere
@AskaGrzadziela@nexta_tv That's why i defend the idea that NATO should not provoke and instead see if Russia really is expansionistic or if this really is just about Ukraine.
@AskaGrzadziela@nexta_tv I'm not sure, but if they do the justification for me being sent to fight in a nuclear war would be stronger than it is if i know that Poland actively provoked them into it, and the strong reaction might do that, or it might trigger a nuclear war that'll cause far MORE suffering
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv debatable, might be that they really do feel threatened by Ukraine and Georgia joining NATO and don't want to be strategically put in check by NATO which makes more sense to me
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv I believe the whole thing is just strategic and geopolitical and no really about the neonazi battalions, that's just what they use as propaganda to motivate their own forces in a WW2 LARP
@ghimiob39@nexta_tv The whole neonazi thing is Russia's propaganda excuse, the reality i think is geopolitical, that Russia just feels itself threatened by NATO's advance and certain events like the US pulling out of the INF treaty

There's plenty of news about it that the Polish government and top diplomats are pushing for it, not what i'd call "halfbrain ducks"
@Jacek_NH@nexta_tv "deployment of Polish peacekeepers" is fancy wording for sending your armed forces into Ukraine with orders to attack Russian forces, in other words, an act of war which this was a warning against
@Jacek_NH@nexta_tv "This happened immediately after the announcement by the Polish leadership about the possible deployment of Polish peacekeepers to #Ukraine to ensure the safety of civilians."
