Not been in here for ages but wanted to vote on Musk's poll to get him out as CEO.
I did tweet he wouldn't still be here by Crimbo.
I'm outta here, again.
There is no such thing as a 'Fiscal Blackhole' and
Inflation has probably now peaked.
So, Tory narrative of 'we need Austerity to plug former and stamp on latter' is bollocks.
It's sucking money from the UK econ to be used as a pre-election warchest.
1. BoE pressured to raise rates to max, by Treasury.
2. Banks make excess profits from inc mortgage int. etc
3. Gov apply windfall or increased taxes on banks (but banks profits still boosted, bankers earn inc bonuses).
4. Gov gets big revenue increase for pre-elect warchest
The City: Sunak/Hunt may be planning the building of an election war chest through the cuts and tax rises about to be announced. This would allow them to impmement big tax reductions and a spending spree before the next election.
We're being played for fools, again.
Money is often the weakest type of leverage, in a negotiation. You need to fully understand the other party's agenda, priorities and pressures. You do this by asking strong questions.
