Kenneth Marino of FDNY Rescue Ladder 1 loved his children, his wife and baseball - specifically, Ken Griffey Jr.

One of my key promises as Mayor was to prioritize climate change adaptation and infrastructure upgrades.
As an example: up until recent years, Madison Street between 9th and 11th Streets would be the place for dramatic flooding pictures during even modest rain events.
When I came into office, my administration spearheaded major flood infrastructure in this low-lying area alongside the North Hudson Sewerage Authority to adapt to the cloudbursts that are now the norm, not the exception: raising the roadway, upgrading the sewers, and more.
Fast forward to today, thanks in large part due to these specific upgrades, this area was dry during recent storms.
It’s one of countless initiatives we undertook to build a more resilient city - finding innovative, cost-effective ways to fund these projects and making Hoboken a model for communities across the country.
Non-residents who spend millions of dollars on NYC apartments help drive NYC’s economy. Most of the profit in condominium development is in the penthouses. The Ken Griffins of the world make NYC high end development viable, driving high-paying construction, brokerage, legal, marketing, and other jobs in NYC. We should be applauding Ken for spending $238 million in NYC, not attacking him for doing so.
Importantly, non-resident owners of NYC apartments who leave their apartments vacant for much of the year are not a burden to NYC schools, services, or other resources while they drive growth in retail sales, restaurants, theater, and other important drivers of our economy. They also often support NYC non-profits with donations.
Ken’s company is a major employer in NYC of very high paying jobs which drive a considerable amount of our tax base. We wouldn’t want him to move even more employees to Miami.
These non-resident owners also already pay a lot of taxes including mansion taxes, real estate taxes, sales taxes and more.
While @NYCMayor Mamdani likes the tag line ‘Tax the rich.’ Unfortunately, his policies will harm the constituencies he is supposedly trying to help.
I can’t imagine the NYC construction unions are excited about his plan.
@NYCMayor This statement will one that you will regret in a year from now. Long term this will not work if you continue to push out your ultra-wealthy tax base.
Let me make this very clear: Big Banks (think JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, etc.) are lobbying overtime to block Americans from getting higher yields on their savings—while trying to block any rewards or perks from being given to customers.
These banks, and others, pay rock-bottom rates on standard savings (often 0.01%–0.05% APY), even as the Fed pays them 4% or more. This massive spread fuels record profits, with almost none passed back to their customers / everyday depositors.
Today, the banks are desperately targeting crypto/stablecoins, where platforms plan to offer 4–5%+ yields or rewards. The ABA and other lobbyists are spending millions trying to ban or restrict those yields via bills like the Clarity Act, crying “fairness” and using words like "stability"—when it's really about protecting their low-rate monopoly and preventing deposit flight. This is anti-retail, anti-consumer, and straight-up anti-American.
Next time you see a big bank dropping billions on a shiny new Midtown Manhattan HQ, you know exactly where that money comes from: the non-existent interest rate they “pay” you!
Fortunately, the big banks are losing this fight as customers wake up to the games…

REP. FALLON: When Obama was choosing his VP, he wanted to make sure they weren't as smart as him and had less talent... So he picked Biden
And then Biden in 2020 did the same, picking Harris
In 2024, it's evident why Harris picked you 🔥
One of the most powerful moments of President Trump’s speech last night was when Eric Slover stood with a walker due to his horrific leg injuries he sustained during the raid to capture Maduro last month.
He almost died for our country. President Trump awarded him the Medal of Honor, and the Democrats refused to stand.
They refused to stand for an American hero in a walker who probably wanted to sit, but still stood up despite his excruciating leg pain.
Democrats hate America. We are an occupied country, and we are occupied by millions of evil people on the Left who have no moral clarity.
It’s not even a debate anymore.
Democrats embody the worst of the worst.
We are headed for very dark times.
Our Town Council keeps raising taxes.
So I showed up with an English Lord’s wig to speak in *favor* of taxes.
“If you can’t pay your taxes…don’t be poor.”
.@SenWarren and @SenAmyKlobuchar: you are failures.
You failed to derail the electoral success of one of our great allies in Latin America, President @JMilei. He won in a landslide with the poorest members of society voting for economic freedom—a notion anathema in particular to the Senate’s resident American Peronist, Senator Warren.
You failed to reopen the government, preventing our Administration’s efforts to get aid to American farmers, as well as our planned activation of the Farm Credit Agency to assist our farmers with next year’s crops.
As the attached photo demonstrates, @POTUS is in Asia showing what successful American leadership looks like. Today’s announcement after his meeting with President Xi will be a resounding victory for our great farmers.
While I know it will be soul-crushing for you, please re-focus your staff away from writing incoherent letters to myself and others, and instead work towards opening the government.
If you decide to further add to your legacy of failure by voting to keep the government closed over the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, ruining the number one travel day for American families, you should both be ashamed.
P.S. I am happy to inform you both that the Argentine economic bridge has now turned a profit for the American people. While “profit” is a private sector word that you may both be unfamiliar with, I would urge you to look past your previous experience working alongside the Biden Administration’s autopenned efforts to bankrupt the US government.
