Almost every Canadian city & many towns now have a homeless tent problem (look among trees for colour). You can help: flashlights (LED are best), 1lb Propane bottles for cooking, mitts, gloves, gently used clothing, blankets, ATTENTION & an Ear! Your time..
@CrystalSeahorse Unfortunately there's hate growing on both sides of the border, within the borders and inside all the borders in the world. Following this path will destroy us AND our children.
@Canada_Misinfo@guyfelicella Some people are tools promoting their chosen group and some are followers, blindly parroting whatever lines they're fed. Others are awake and sniffing out the good with the bad.
@jeremyct When I started in a factory coffee in the cafeteria cost 10 min labor. When I left 39 years later, coffee cost 10 min labor. What changed? The value of the currency, not the commodity. Cars became more complex & cost more time to buy but are safer. TVs cost less time & have color
@spencedyor One of my kids scraped, the other had the best. Now the scraper's set, the other stressed. Both grew up at the same time. There are ways to get ahead even today IF you're willing to do some sacrificing or compromising. Short term pain for long term gain - it's how we went too.
@shaguncrypto When I was young, I looked ahead & saw I'd never be rich. Squirreled away what I could. Got a used kayak (paddling is free). Snowshoes (walking is free). Snorkel (swimming is free). Bicycle (aunts are free - old rail lines safe). Camera (for the memories). Developed free habits.
@Gina_T1 Because we signed NAFTA and let huge chunks of our manufacturing slip away. Stores and services shuffle money but don't make new money. Taking raw materials and making products earns added value (money). We gave that part away for cheap goods. A half century later it's biting us.
@WIgeopolitical "If Ottawa wants tariffs off"? Trump slapped tariffs ON a year ago. Not after negotiating; out of the blue & saying he wants the country as a "cherished" 51st State. If he had complaints, why suckered punch instead of talk? If I've a grievance with you, can I kick first or talk?
@KimDobranski The original NAFTA was a big mistake for Canada. The only way to ADD & CREATE value is to take raw materials & build something. Stores, restaurants, hospitals & the like move money around & provide jobs, but don't create value. Of course manufacturers moved to cheap locations.
