“So Mr Farage, what was it about the total lack of transparency of a system widely used by money launderers, Russian criminals and hackers that first attracted you to cryptocurrency?”
In the middle of a bullfight, Álvaro Múnera did something that stunned everyone watching.
The crowd was roaring. The bull charged hard. The moment the ritual demanded had arrived. Múnera lifted his cape, moving exactly as years of training had taught him to move.
And then he stopped.
He sank down into the sand and sat there. No pose. No gesture for the crowd. Just silence. The noise faded, replaced by confusion and disbelief.
Later, he tried to explain what changed inside him. He said the horns no longer looked like a threat. When he met the bull’s eyes, he did not see fury. He saw fear. Innocence. An animal forced into violence it never chose.
“This wasn’t a fight,” he said afterward. “It was cruelty.”
He set the sword down and walked out of the arena, knowing he would never return.
That moment ended his life as a matador, but it opened another path. Múnera became a vocal critic of bullfighting and animal abuse. He spoke to students, wrote about his transformation, and worked alongside groups defending animals. He taught that empathy matters more than tradition, and that real bravery can mean refusing to harm when harm is expected.
Many accused him of betraying his culture. Others laughed at the idea that compassion could outweigh applause. He did not back down.
The man who once killed for cheers chose instead to stand for mercy. His story reminds us that no custom is beyond question, and no life is locked into a single role.
Sometimes everything changes in one instant.
One look.
One choice.
One quiet decision to walk away.
Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.
People, animals and wildlife are all trying to survive.
Be kind.
Always.

Not much of an adventure for the unweaned calves @BrittanyFerries is transporting from Ireland to France. A long 18-hour sea crossing without food.

🚚 #StopTheTrucks: This dead cow washed up on a French beach 🐮🏖️.
Did you know that on transport ships 🚢 no animal welfare laws apply that ensure the protection of the animals?
Injured animals who are supposedly dead are often simply thrown overboard 💔. Many animals die on these cruel journeys, either freezing to death or being boiled alive on deck by the heat they have to endure.
Every year, 4.5 million cattle, pigs, sheep, and goats are exported from the EU to third countries.
Transporting animals overseas is cruel and torturous, and we must finally put an end to this suffering‼️ Please #DoBetterForAnimals sign our

“Brittany Ferries made bold decision 30 yrs ago to stop carrying farmed animals to continent for slaughter, due to the suffering” @NadaFarhoud
NOW they are turning back history books & prioritising commerce over cruelty!
Shame on #BrittanyFerries@ciwf

“A matador being killed by a bull is not the tragic bit. Torturing the bull for fun in the first place is the tragic bit!" ~ @RickyGervais.
Matador Ivan Fandino was gored to death by a bull that he was going to torture before killing it!
