@HPbasketball@StoolGreenie Losing to the Heat was a choke job, meanwhile that same Heat team was apparently a tougher draw in the finals than the Mavs.
Amazing the knots you'll tie yourself in to back the Nuggets and slight the Celtics.

@HPbasketball@StoolGreenie To be clear, when the Celtics won a title they had injury luck.
But when the 6MOY has a torn tendon and can't shoot and their best player rolls his ankle 1 minute into game 7 it's a choke job.
@HPbasketball@DeeksStan@Worldwide_Jim The Knicks starting 5 has missed 5 total games
The Cavs top 4 has missed 4 total games (who is CLVs 5th guy?)
The Celtics starting 5 has missed 41 total games
Choose to not count KP, and it's 18
"Everyone has injuries" - sure, that doesn't mean they were all created equal

@DongCheetos@HPbasketball The 2024-25 Boston Celtics through 21 games:
#2 record (17-4)
#3 offense (120.3)
#8 defense (110.2)
#1 net rating (+10.2)
#1 point differential (+10.2)
#3 TS% (59.9%)
KP has missed 18 games
Brown has missed 5 games
Horford has missed 5 games
@Matt_Pisaneschi@HPbasketball Sure, I can't predict the future, but this is exactly what the Celtics do and they did it all of last season to the tune of a 80-21 record, a title, and a top 4 all-time net rating.
You're hoping for something you haven't seen, I'm expecting something I have seen.
@Matt_Pisaneschi@HPbasketball Cavs got 42 efficient pts from outside your big 4. Would their defense have been better? Probably, but the shooting would suffer.
Garland and Allen would continue to get switched onto Tatum & Brown. One weak link on the perimeter will be exposed and put you into rotation.
@HPbasketball@NickCaccese We're all in agreement that the "if this guy played better the outcome would be different" is pretty hollow.
My point was it's not like they got nothing from the guys who played instead, there's also way more variability across 4 guys.
KP > Queta is pretty straightforward.

KP > Queta is pretty straightforward.
@NickCaccese@HPbasketball While of course this isn't literally true, swapping Queta for KP is about as close to this as it gets.
How it doesn't work is how cavs fans are stating they were missing their wings, meanwhile they got 42 highly efficient points from the role players who did play.
@grantwgates@HPbasketball Can those same players go for 42 pts on 17/24 shooting, 6/9 from three?
Cause if not, there is a big tradeoff from what they got tonight from outside their big 4.
@HPbasketball Cavs got 42 pts from outside their big 4 on 17/24 shooting, 6/9 from three btw.
"missing all their wings" resulted in a pretty damn good game from their role players.
On the other hand swapping KP for Queta is an obvious net positive
