@timeachris If you mentally swap the terms "the economy" with "the investment portfolios of our corporate overlords," these reports make a lot more sense.
@timeachris It's the same thing as when the NYT talks about a "roaring economy" with tons of added jobs, but we're not looking at the fact that these jobs are not keeping pace with inflation, working conditions are getting worse, and higher interest rates are cutting budgets at the knees.
I continue to be bewildered at the attachment conservative Italian Americans have with Columbus. There are hundreds of notable Italians with more positive impacts on the world in general, and America specifically. Why hitch yourself to someone awful? https://t.co/OemBlOY7kK
Around halfway through Diablo IV. It's definitely scratching that RPG/hack and slash itch. This formula's been comfort food for me since the Diablo II days. And unlike Diablo II, no one's gonna yell at me for tying up the phone line via the dial-up connection.
@timeachris I liked using it to deal crowd damage while I focused on the tougher enemies. But staying still and dodging is pretty crucial to making it less of a tempo killer.
@timeachris For Bahamut, the O ability charges faster if you stay still vs gliding. And it auto jumps a level if you execute a perfect dodge. That can cut form on charge time a lot and a Lvl 3/4 can be good for crowd control. I also like Giga, but it’s 1000 points upfront, which is a lot.
@timeachris Yeah, they contribute to the story and give you some fun gear or a mount. The other ones are just “Miltonbury took my mangoes!” And then you walk for 10 minute to find Miltonbury and kill/scold/rescue him from a pack of wolves. And all you get for returning the mangoes is 150gil.
@timeachris Yep, it also gifts you some stamina if you run out and fall into a body of water. "Just enough" to make it to shore if you're relatively close by. Very handy, and often makes the difference between a "Whew, so close" and a "Fuck, now I gotta do this again."
@zmiller1902 Don't get me wrong - there's still a fair argument to be made here that these AI platforms will cannibalize the work of creatives. But at least this solution gives people a seat at the table and offers equity in the profits. I'm interested to see what the next 5 years look like.
@zmiller1902 A lot of companies are looking at enterprise AI - and they need shit that's not going to look murky to their legal depts. More and more, the best practice is an AI framework that's heavily moderated/curated by people. It works, people get paid, and the end user is better for it.
@zmiller1902 If you pay for and license work for the SPECIFIC purpose of serving it through an AI product, it not only improves the accuracy - seeing as how it's curated and not just a firehose of stolen shit from the internet - but it creates a marketplace for artists to make money from AI.
