We are joined today by our friends Dani and Tom from the White Horse Edwardstone, for the brewing of Loveleys Fair (a straw-coloured 4% beer) using Tom's own organic barley malt. Don't worry, Tom agreed to leave all of his wild yeasts at home! @edwardstonewh
@CompaniesHouse Your new annual confirmation online filing system linked to https://t.co/5hWbFaxbiO One is an absolute shambles and an unreasonable burden on businesses, plus you have the cheek to charge ยฃ50 for the privilege.
@CAMRA_Official@CAMRA_Official The issue of forthcoming increases in business rates has achieved little publicity, but deperately needs to be highlighted. Pub businesses *will* fail as a result of this change in April 2026.
@WBOnline_ This demonstrates without doubt that the government has no idea of the cost pressures than are weighing hospitality down. This is a useless initiative for most.
It's new beer brew day and our faces lit up when we opened up these hops. The beer will be a few weeks in the making but well worth waiting for, we think.
@PiersBaker @RachelReevesMP Absolutely this. Employers' NI is the largest incentive for employers to not employ people and should, quite simply, be abolished. Do you want burdens on or contributors to the coffers?
@CAMRA_Official@JonnyGarrett That's incorrect. A tapped cask of correctly-brewed beer which has had nothing drawn off it can last for weeks or even months, without deteriorating. It is once the contents start to be dispensed which signals the start of the deterioration, not the tapping.
@CAMRA_Official April 1st, 2025 is likely to prove a very dark day for many small retail businesses including pubs. The huge reduction in business rates relief for those businesses will be the straw that breaks many a camel's back.
We last brewed this in 2016, apparently - the super-duper Summit hops from the US are not always available! Arriving in draught form at discerning local outlets from next week onwards.
@garysagar1 @PeteBrownBeer @NatWest_Help Yes, but the mail service isn't secure but banks have been using it for decades. Also, some banks have disabled their secure messaging services (looking at you @santanderuk ) so you can only 'phone them or use their useless AI chatbots.
