A powerful reminder that history isn’t just written in books it lives on through family, connection, and legacy.

Albert Priest & Arthur Weeks (8th Division), and Mervin W. Drews “Snow” (2/11th Field Regiment) answered the call, served side by side, and helped shape the lives we live today.

From Kelvin Grove, Brisbane to the battlefields of WWII, their paths unknowingly crossed… only for their grandchildren, Jodie and I, to meet years later, fall in love, and build a family of our own.

A legacy carried forward through generations.

We will remember them.

Larry amassed over 1,000 career wins, including 24 Group One victories, highlighted by the 1987 Melbourne Cup aboard Kensei and the 1988 Golden Slipper on Star Watch.

A well-deserved inductee into the Queensland Racing Hall of Fame (2007) and a pleasure to meet.🐎
