39 years ago today John Barnes signed for Liverpool. He went on to become one of the best players to ever wear the shirt. An icon for so many who helped to break barriers, his influence on footy fans in the UK and throughout the Caribbean and Africa can never be underestimated!

@JBL_lfc I went to see FC Köln last Saturday. Tickets purchased from stub hub. Me and 3 others were literally dragged out be the ultras, because we were tourists and “not welcome there”. It’s going on but I can assure you, it’s not pleasant.
