That probably makes more sense for the past tense thingy. But it still does not excuse the dire lack of 1st person POV in fics and we need to fix it!

@Naus_sensei I can't remember shit from Spanish classes but how many past tenses do you have? We have a billion in french and I think that's what helps. English is terribly lacking in that category and it makes past tense feel soooo repetitive imo. Maybe it's a language specific thing 🤔

@Naus_sensei I didn't even realise you could write anything other than past tense cause that's French 101 tbh 😂 Honestly in hindsight I think it's easier to write English in present tense, but I like that I still had the guts to write a 220+k words fic in past tense haha

@Naus_sensei I think povs and tenses are so important to every story and the fact that fics are mostly written the same way lessen the possibilities. It's probs an issue with self insert and xreader shit but I think we need to collectively work to refurbish 1st pov rather than to shun it 🤷‍♂️

@Naus_sensei I haven't read much English stuff aside from fics so that's what I'm most used to. Tbh I'm French and we're very snob with literature (me included lol) so I'm probably biased.
