Winning this prestigious title for the second time is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the consistency, excellence, and determination that define the Edo people.

Today, as we commemorate Democracy Day, we celebrate the resilience of the Nigerian people and honour the sacrifices of Chief M.K.O. Abiola and all those who fought to secure the democratic freedoms we enjoy today.

June 12 reminds us that democracy is not a destination but a continuous journey.

As we reflect on our democratic journey, we must remain united and vigilant in confronting the challenges of insecurity, economic hardship, and misinformation. As I have always maintained, Security, justice, and the protection of lives and property are essential dividends of democracy.

In Edo State, we remain committed to practical governance through our SHINE Agenda, strengthening security, expanding access to healthcare, investing in education, empowering our youths, and delivering sustainable development that improves the lives of our people.

Nigeria has overcome difficult times before, and with unity, and faith in our nation, we will overcome today's challenges and build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous future for all.
