BREAKING: Peruvian politician Susy Aponte Polo shot dead while campaigning

Journalist and Áncash regional governor candidate Susy Ysabel Aponte Polo, popularly known as “China Polo,” was shot dead on Saturday while campaigning at a market in Caraz, Peru.

Five others were wounded, while three suspects, including a Venezuelan national identified as the alleged gunman, have been detained. Authorities are investigating the killing as a possible contract assassination.
