@laveiha@woolfordekernel@sugary__angel@noonchaand The problem with this is that human traits are not inherently masculine or feminine, they are human. Trying to gender these qualities is part of the reason we have many of the issues we do in society. Idk how you don't get that.
@TcTechnetium@noonchaand Oh there is absolutely discourse about this for men, the "divine masculine." The idea that to be a true man one has to provide for his woman so that she can exist in her feminine. It's all patriarchy repackaged by the woo woo crowd lol.
@sugary__angel@laveiha@woolfordekernel@noonchaand This presupposes that there are traits arbitrarily labeled as "masculine" or "feminine" in the first place...that's the essentialist part. The whole concept is silly because these terms mean different things to different people, cultures, time periods. Its a social construct.
@DykeSmuggler@Bryce_Estelle@Ryv4tt I'll tell you right now as someone who worked in education, this doesn't mean that money is spent properly. There's a reason American students are falling behind.
@notnickok@Bryce_Estelle@Ryv4tt Again, something being difficult is not reason enough to not try to get as close as we can to achieving it. I don't even know why you'd be against that.
@notnickok@Azeralisback@Bryce_Estelle@Ryv4tt Obviously it wouldn't be as simple as everything being totally free. And to your other post, both Germany and France have figured this out with no tuition fees and other costs like housing, food, transportation being fairly low or at least reasonable imo.
@notnickok@Azeralisback@Bryce_Estelle@Ryv4tt I'm going to take your word of that being true. Even so, it's not a strong argument against the idea. We spend billions of dollars if not trillions on other things that don't help every day people. A fraction of that spending would take care of free college.
@HDonDatta@maineadelphia Who's says that you can't do both? Therapy isn't about "spilling your guts" it's getting tools from a professional on how to deal with stress, trauma, and heavy shit that you can't just gym away. Really that simple.
@Bryce_Estelle@Ryv4tt Nah this is an L take. Other countries that don't have the amount of wealth the U.S. does figured this out. There is no reason why we can't other than greed.
@007_lunar@goodnightrage There is some truth to it. I remember when people posted a photo of Jason mamoa and used him as an example of a dad bod. Many look at lifelong athletes on their off season and call that "fluffy" and it's just wrong. It's ok to like that physique but it's not a dad bod.
@FakerEN2@YEWSREKEEG Nah, fuck him and his pedo defenders. To be more concerned with someone making accurate character judgements and jokes about him over his real life beliefs is very telling. Seek help.
@johnnywave_@catmaxxing_ It depends on what your goal and aesthetic is. Some people prefer casual cosplay that's very subtle; the item pays homage to the property its from without being too loud or looking like a costume. Other people don't mind direct references and symbols, that's alright too.
@MurdocksMother@AndromedaGfx It's ok to say you have shit taste and prefer lower cost. The style of soul's hoodie is perfectly in line with popular silhouettes of cropped over sized hoodies. The people who get it, get it.
@empresssiive@ReZzeatspezz@Bryce_Estelle Online discourse does this thing where masculinity is used as pejorative. Here, asking for a masculine man isn't as innocent as you think it is. It's people grifting and signaling to a very narrow image of what they think it is and that should be reinforced.
