This violent, disgusting rhetoric targeted at an elected official and his children is beyond disqualifying.

Jay Jones said that “Gilbert gets two bullets to the head” and then hoped his children would die. Read those words again.

There is no “gosh, I’m sorry” here. Jones doesn’t have the morality or character to drop out of this race, and his running mates Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi, and every elected Democrat in Virginia don’t have the courage to call on him to step away from this campaign in disgrace.

I found out that a group of conservative students- the College Republicans- were meeting at UVA last night so I finished up with the fancy legislative dinner and my keynote speech and went across the campus to meet them.

What a great collection of very interesting and independent young voters.

They were engaged and asked informed questions and dialogued respectfully and thoughtfully.

I really appreciated the chance to speak and ask for their vote!

As a member of the UVA Board of Visitors, it saddens me deeply to realize that so many in our @UVA community support political violence and celebrate death in this fashion. Higher ed generally, including @UVA, have lost what it means to be a university, instead becoming Marxist playgrounds of indoctrination for so many and lowering the quality of education in general.
