@TheChaseADavis@GrantSlatton@HSVSphere And it being a surface-simple problem that anyone can understand is critical to its utility as an interview problem, because you don't have to spend much time explaining the idea; everyone gets the idea, which lets you explore the specifics.
@TheChaseADavis@GrantSlatton@HSVSphere Yes, it's a "Simple Matter of Programming" problem, nothing about it is inherently complex, but there's enough complexity that no one is going to memorize a full answer, so you can use it to explore candidate understanding of the design question.
@2thegreat166318@maxdubler@ghostburps The MBTA communities act is, honestly, piddling; most communities complying with it will see little change in housing created as a result. It's bipartisan largely because it's extremely weak and does very little; esp. compared to e.g. California's extensive housing reform efforts
@2thegreat166318@maxdubler@ghostburps huh? On a municipal level, Cambridge-based lefty organizations held a rally opposing ending single family zoning. At a statewide level, Massachusetts is thought of as progressive, but has some of the most restrictive zoning regulations in the country. How is MA a counterexample?
@RedPillReality_@GoBrightline The truck drove around the stopped traffic and the arm, driving in the wrong lane in order to sneak around the gate, thinking that the freight train that had just passed was the only relevant rail user at the time.
@thebenpatterson@mnolangray If it's pedal assist only, then it is Class 1 or 3. (Class 2 includes a throttle; both Class 1 and Class 2 have a 20mph speed maximum.)
@mnolangray The answer across the board is "Something that you can try out in person first"; either at a shop or with a friend. So much of "What makes a good e-bike?" is personal preference; everyone loves the one they have, but most people haven't ridden 30 different ones like I have.
@mnolangray Oh, the RadKick belt drive bike is a single speed with a lovely assist system, and is also step-thru and lightweight; that would be another alternative to the Pace 500.3.
@NathanChio@clhubes "Cool couple Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen chose it for their daughter, reviving the name to stylishness, and now Drew Barrymore has a little Olive too, as has country singer Jake Owen."
Looks like it definitely gained popularity after Sacha Baron Cohen used it.
@johnhawkinson It's always been a performance; whether it's useless or not is a much harder question to answer. (My feeling is that most of politics is intended as a form of persuasive performance art, so it's not different than many other political things in this sense.)
