“We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond.” -Gwendolyn Brooks. BYP100 Digital Strategist. (she/her)
BYP100 is my political home and the place where I found my leadership.
We are fighting for the future where all Black people are free. Are you interested in joining @BYP_100 Durham Chapter? DM me ✊🏾
To Breonna Taylor, we will shout your name until it’s never forgotten again. To Tony McDade, we love you. To George Floyd and all our stolen ancestors, we gon’ fight all day and night until we get it right.
It’s time to rise up and love our people harder 🖤

#GivingBlackLove sets us free.
Every day, @BYP100 members are challenging each other to grow - more powerful + more committed to Black freedom. We need to raise $25K for the leaders growing this political home for our liberation.

TI is whack. UNCG is a PWI. Actual HBCU’s are about to lose funding. Climate change is real. People don’t belong in cages. Capitalism is toxic.
thank you for coming to my TED talk.
We’re a coalition led by Black and brown trans and queer women and nonbinary folks.
Our opponents get funding from John McCain’s foundation, while many of us go through housing instability and homelessness.
We’ve been able to do so much in the face of oppression. We are love.
Last night, one of our Black mamas who was bailed out in May – Durham fellow Yazzmine – gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! If Yazzmine were still in a cage, the state would have taken her baby away at birth, but we are buying our freedom & the freedom of the next generation!
"but when we are silent
we are still afraid
So it is better to speak."
Audre Lorde's words have been holding me up.
Gatewood still denying intentions to harass despite the two survivors' stories, both investigated and confirmed. - #AllEyesOnNAACP https://t.co/M1mfETibfv
Another NC based activist has now come out sharing her experiences of being sexually harassed by Rev. Curtis Gatewood while working as a @NCNAACP intern. At the time, she was 17. I know @crsebring personally and she's always been solid! READ HER STATEMENT https://t.co/mgldRItvwc
"A mantra for survivors: My memory is valid. My experiences are real. I am worthy and deserving of everything I need to heal."
I'm so sorry this happened to you. Thank you for sharing your story; as a fellow survivor, this mantra is comforting to me.
I believe Jazmyne Childs because I trust Black women, girls, and gender non-conforming (GNC) people. Because I trust survivors, always. And I know she’s telling the truth because @NAACP leader, Curtis Gatewood sexually harassed #metoo. I was 17.

We can never forget how quickly and aggressively CPD criminalized #JussieSmollett. We must interrogate what called so many to ask “You think Jussie lying?” instead of “Can we really trust CPD?” first. We must commit to believe and trust survivors, especially Black LGBTQ people.
@Msproverbs316 Thank you! Yep 😷 there are definitely financial strains on all sides of the issue but I want us all to think about this more when we walk out the house with all the germs.
Y’all really run around everywhere spreading your germs like healthcare is free. Now I’m giving urgent care MY money because YOU didn’t want to stay home. That’s wild.
BYP100 Durham member and @NCCU senior, Ajamu Dillahunt said the decision to remove Hoey’s name from the admin building represented “a bottom-up, student-led victory, not a top-down administration victory.”
Shout out to HBCU students making history!
