I write fiction, know a lot about physics, and enjoy watching hockey. I'm here because I like to shout opinions into the void with no expectation of response.
I started a small project to read all of Agatha Christie's Poirot stories in October of 2020. Obviously I've not been rushing it. I finished tonight. It was satisfying, enlightening, and worth every moment. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes to read.
Been staying at this hotel, I was in room 21 but a couple hours ago the staff asked me to move to room 42. “Sure” I say, “what’s the reason?”
I shit you not, they told me an infinitely large bus with infinite people just pulled up and they all need a room
$1 that doubles every day breaks the world economy eventually. $2/s is like $60M per year for the rest of your life. I'd probably do that instead of the upfront $1 billion. You can probably get 6% on your billion pretty consistently, so idk if it would matter much.
Seeing some leftists mad at this and it’s like, do you actually want to build a mass movement that appeals to millions of people or do you want a book club where we jerk each other off
Tom Holland got emotional describing what he’s learned from Jon Bernthal since he was a kid and Bernthal broke down mid-interview.
Sean Evans: What’s one thing about the other guy that you appreciate more than you did back then, with the last decade of experience?
Jon Bernthal: That’s easy for me.
Tom Holland: I want to — I’ll take this one cuz you always say such nice things about me, man.
Jon Bernthal: Oh.
Tom Holland: As a young man in this business, coming up, it’s so important to find people that you can look up to and people you aspire to be like. And the way John is with his family and his kids, and the way he approaches his work, the way he is with people on set, the way he’s been with me since I was a kid to now being 30 years old, is something I’m super grateful for. And I’ve learned a lot from him as a professional. Even today, listening to you talk about all that Russian bullsh*t was really interesting.
Jon Bernthal: Tom, this is so bad, bro. This is so bad.
Tom Holland: And the tears are my love for him.
Jon Bernthal: I love you too, man. I really love you too, man.
Tom Holland: The fact that we auditioned for these movies together and we took that leap of faith together and we got to share this moment together now is pretty awesome. And I’m just very grateful, very grateful that we got to do this. Even our first day on the Odyssey was together.
Jon Bernthal: Yeah.
Tom Holland: And we got to sit down after work and we were like, dude, how f*cking crazy was that? I’m going to drink your milk, bro.
Anti-aging influencer Bryan Johnson says scientists have created a clone of him that will be used to replace his organs in the future
He says "baby-bryan" lives in a petri dish for now
By far the funniest moment in Homer’s Odyssey is when Circe says, “Shall we have sex?” and Odysseus says, “You just turned all my men into pigs. You have the GALL to think I would sleep with you? Of course I will. Absolutely. But don’t do any weird spells”
Do you honestly believe they would keep Mitch McConnell “alive” on machines for over a month just to avoid an election so the committee can hand appoint his replacement?
