Update: Mr. Mason’s freshman science class preparing the moose brought in Monday. Each student gets to take one package of meat home to share with their family. The majority of the meat will be donated to families in the community who are in need of assistance.

To teach subsistence and harvesting, a Chugiak High School science teacher brought in a moose for his freshman class to start quartering in preparation for processing the meat on Thursday. The teacher acquired the moose through an educational harvest permit.
