Thing, Japan but for real estate sounds awesome until you remember that they have a different philosophy on homes than we do. The value is in the land, not the home, and culturally they prefer new construction. It's the reverse here.

I would be okay with this if the Torah, Quran, Vedas, and Three Baskets were also required reading, because then it would actually be about studying a wide array of seminal literature. I don't think I hate Christians enough.
This is clever in a way that's really insidious. Indoctrinating kids into Christianity by making the bible mandatory reading for Language Arts classes. TX is going to make a brand new generation of religious nutcases. Hopefully they fucking stay down there.

The board, which is controlled by Republicans, voted to pass a new required reading list on Friday by a vote of 9-5-1.
