@Purescottish1@20MinuteTims Or if they get a big money move later down the line the SFA can recoup some of their initial investment. The majority of clubs are struggling financially so taking young players on where they won’t see an immediate return/ impact doesn’t make sense to them
@Purescottish1@20MinuteTims I don’t think it’s something clubs can sort, it needs to be sorted by the SFA, invest in a proper set up where kids have a chance to grow and develop, play competitive games upto 21 years old, fund the clubs for young talent and agree a reasonable fee if the players are a success
@Purescottish1@20MinuteTims The under 19s league in Scotland has some clubs who have an almost full squad of players who are full time, most clubs don’t have the money for that so maybe 3 or 4 are offered full time deals and the rest of the team is made up of younger players.
@Purescottish1@20MinuteTims The money on offer down south is life changing, without a proper structure in Scotland where kids can see progression they will always make the move. England have competive leagues upto under 23s, Scotland most kids will get released at 17 and told they aren’t good enough
@johnwalker_1986 Agreed, if you’re playing Hanley against a strong team it’s got to be in a back 5. Off the ball in the first 35-40mins we were so passive. No attempt to press fully and win the ball back, if you can’t win it, put the player under pressure or give away shitey free kicks
