While the Press will be focused on the battle for the Labour leadership and Conservatives celebrating our win in Aberdeen, there are two people I want to pay tribute to.
The first is @Winstamike who was an excellent candidate for us in Makerfield. He represented our party with grace, dignity and competence. The result was no reflection on him but on the circumstances of a peculiar by-election where the question was not “who would be the best representative?” but “should Andy Burnham challenge Keir Starmer for the Labour leadership?”
The second is @j_cruickshanks whose valiant efforts in Arbroath and Broughty Ferry took us from 3rd behind Labour to 2nd place, increasing the Conservative vote share.
By-elections can be more intense than general elections because of the focus and scrutiny. I am proud of all our Conservative candidates this morning. Part of a strong, united team.
@jessalinecaine Vote for the party who has the policies you most align with.
Reform constantly tell us it's not about right or left, until they expect all right-wing people to vote for them.
@SlyForTheRight My experience is that Reform are having to do that because they are awash with people who have extreme views and cannot be trusted not to put their foot in it.
Apparently they have a centrally controlled list of people allowed to speak to the media.
The hospitality industry wants their VAT cut to 10%. It will cost £12bn
Who benefits?
❌ The smallest most vulnerable businesses? Nope. 45% get nothing.
❌ Consumers? Nope - prices won't fall.
✅ Nearly half the cash goes straight to large chains. McDonald's gets £400m.
🧵:
@raelbrav For someone who leads a party you constantly describe as 'dying' or 'dead', Kemi seems to occupy a large portion of your politically tiny mind
@montie@KemiBadenoch How have you fallen so far since joining the Reform cult?
It's only Reformers who think she's done a bad job this week because you're the only party attempting to profit from an awful situation.
None of you have any shame.
🚨The BBC had just sunk to a new low.
On Newsnight last night, presenter Matt Chorley claimed Nigel Farage said people should respond to the murder of Henry Nowak with “white cold rage”.
Nigel DID NOT SAY THIS.
The insertion of the word “white” by the BBC is obviously designed to change the meaning completely.
It was no slip of the tongue, Chorley said it THREE TIMES.
He came prepared to defame Nigel and lie to the country.
This is disgusting from the BBC.
Why do they insist on spitting in the faces of the millions of Reform supporters who are forced to contribute to their salaries?
THE BBC MUST APOLOGISE IMMEDIATELY
@Goosey30111568 My sauces tell me you completely made that up.
You can accuse her of what you like but when you added reform derangement syndrome it was obvious you were lying.
She constantly states that she's not here to talk about reform.
You sir, are a charlatan
Kemi Badenoch declared “Black Lives Do Matter” when George Floyd died.
Yet when a white man in Britain is murdered amidst obvious anti-white racism she goes on TV to declare “I don’t want to hear white lives matter”.
Kemi and the Tory Party do not care about white people.
Zia Yusuf has become a serious liability for Reform. The party knows it, Jenrick knows it, and many Reform MPs know it. The problem is he is now so entrenched that removing him is far from simple.
His left-wing credentials continue to surface in his rhetoric and aggression.
@raelbrav Hilarious
You have continually told us that your mate Nige will sort out immediately.
All Reforms policy announcements make out that everything will be fixed pretty much immediately
@confidencenac@EliteTigers1 Never missed a meeting of the full council in 10 years. I did have to give apologies at a planning meeting a couple of months ago, and someone went in my place.
As for the new reform cllrs, they would not appear on any list as they're all new
@pickwickpick Nothing to do with the huge financial crash in 2008/9, or the 2 recent wars then?
All western countries are struggling to keep living standards at rates we are used to. It's happening in countries with both left & right-wing governments
@DanielCreminGB Correct, but now you're in power in a few places it won't take long for the country to find out that you cannot dictate good policy on the back of a fag packet.
Government is far harder than cheap slogans
