So far Google is not trustworthy when it comes to privacy, so it’s normal and desirable to be cautious, that was my point

Take a step back and ask yourself how the lack of privacy is dangerous for the free will of individuals and for a democracy in the long run

Google is probably #1 threat to privacy in the world, so there’re good reasons to be extremely cautious about a so-called "anonimized" system

@signalapp Also, I´m wondering how it’s even possible, from a transparency perspective but also towards all those who believe in and support Signal, to make such an announcement out of the blue. Signal wouldn’t exist without its supporters/donors, so keep them involved or at least updated.

@signalapp So disappointed.... You promised a privacy-focused messaging app and are doing great so far, please don’t transform it into a bloated app. If you go the way of experimenting with new services, AT LEAST create a separate app, and chose a « reputable » coin, not an obscure one

They are not similar. Signal went his own way, you can see the code and check the e2e. Telegram is open source but not e2e, so they can execute anything they want server side so you don’t see it.

Profiling = gathering all kind of data (such as likes but anythg else too) and using them to infer info on you/your personality. It’s then potentially sold & reinterpreted, and so on.
