“Attorney General Letitia James was outwitted, outlawyered, and simply outclassed by her electoral opponent Saritha Komartireddy in their Thursday night debate.”
When Did We Decide That Living in Fear Was Just Part of Living in New York City?
I just watched New York Attorney General candidate Saritha Komatireddy describe a horrifying incident in the Bronx involving a repeat offender who allegedly shot a young man, emptied a cash register, and fled.
What disturbed me just as much was the attitude she challenged. The notion that these things simply happen in big cities and that people should accept them.
NO! We do not have to accept this as normal!
I have family in the Bronx. My family has lived there for more than 65 years. These aren’t anonymous statistics to me. These are mothers, fathers, children, cousins, and grandparents who deserve to walk their neighborhoods without wondering whether they’ll make it home.
And I have a serious question for New York’s elected officials.
How many times must a repeat offender pass through the criminal justice system before somebody examines why that individual remains on the streets?
How much public funding has been allocated to public safety, and what measurable improvements have taxpayers received?
We have developed an almost Kafkaesque bureaucracy in which enormous resources are devoted to addressing public disorder, yet ordinary families are still demanding the most fundamental protection government is supposed to provide.
I want accountability from Governor Kathy Hochul, Attorney General Letitia James, legislators, prosecutors, and every public official responsible for the policies governing criminal justice.
And I want something more substantial than another press conference.
Show us the repeat-offender statistics. Show us the prosecution outcomes. Show us how many defendants were released and subsequently charged with another serious offense. Show us what changed after billions of taxpayer dollars were spent.
Public safety should be measured by the safety of the people, not the size of the government programs created in its name.
Saritha Komatireddy has raised a question New Yorkers deserve to have answered.
Why should families accept preventable criminal chaos as the unavoidable price of living in a major American city?
My family in the Bronx matters. So does yours.
And I refuse to regard their safety as an acceptable political casualty.
@sarithaforny has my vote… does she have yours?

Raising taxes will not fix a spending problem. Washington has already pushed the national debt past $40 trillion, and continues borrowing.
My Six Penny Plan takes a common-sense approach: cut six cents from every $1 the federal government spends. In five years, we balance the budget. After all, our kids and grandkids shouldn’t have to pay a bill they never agreed to.
When inflation hits, those in power blame scapegoats.
Rome blamed Christians.
Medieval Europe blamed witches.
Today? Billionaires.

Bill Maher is sounding the alarm over France’s growing debt and the long-term cost of its generous welfare state.
“The people don’t want to give up their perks, so now you have to borrow more money.”
Maher argues that when governments promise more benefits than their economies can sustain, borrowing can turn into a vicious cycle.
Sara Eisen explains the danger: borrowing money just to service existing debt is how a debt spiral begins.
The bigger question is whether governments can keep expanding spending without putting their economic future at risk.

"What is unfolding in France is far more troubling, and far more existential, than a mere protest over school funding or a row over classroom sizes. This is not a demand for better ‘education’ as a route into French society, but a rejection of that society and its values. It is an intifada against French civilisation itself."

Around 50 French police officers were injured in clashes near Place de la Bastille in Paris today.
French Interior Ministry: roughly 25,000 took part in the Paris riots.
A migrant caravan of more than 600 people has crossed into Mexico and is traveling north toward the U.S. southern border, prompting the Department of Homeland Security to issue a direct warning.
The caravan began in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on September 20 and has grown while traveling north, with migrants predominantly from Honduras, Guatemala, Ecuador and Haiti.
DHS said “catch and release” is over and warned:
“Anyone attempting to illegally enter the United States will be apprehended, prosecuted, and removed from the country.”
The caravan comes just weeks before the U.S. midterm elections, with immigration and border security remaining major campaign issues.
The Islamic riots in France have spread to Belgium, and Brussels looks like a war zone right now.

🚨🇫🇷 Former French intelligence chief Alain Chouet claims 1,514 neighborhoods across 859 cities are off-limits to police, emergency and medical services.
4 MILLION people live there.
French cities are ticking TIME BOMBS. How much worse will it get?
Make no mistake: Letitia James is a defund-the-police politician. For her, having more criminals on the street isn’t a problem — it’s a policy.
She pushed for less police. She loves our catch-and-release bail laws. And she ignores the innocent people who keep getting attacked by repeat offenders, including our own cops.
New York needs an AG who supports the police, will fix the broken bail laws, and will lock up repeat offenders, and I’ll do just that.
