Ken unfortunately amendment 3 is a refund the police amendment. It's impossible to cut that much money in a single year followed by another massive cut the second year without. It will cut hiring, equipment and training. I vote Republican 99 percent of time but this amendment was rushed and is poorly thought out. There is a reason why every police and fire department is coming out about it being bad. And it's not because "government bad" it's a bad amendment.

You cannot tell cities to cut millions of dollars without affecting hiring, equipment, training, and response time. I fully understand cities waste money and are bloated. But an amendment is taking a sledggehamer and offers zero real maneuverability when the leaks in public safety funding pop up. It's why every police and fire dept is calling it out.

It's definitely not about wanting the taxes and the cities and states which do waste our money to be more fiscally conservative. it's that this was a very rushed amendment that's going to cause more harm than good period and I understand the passion of all the people on social media. Those thatl always put in large exclamation marks- vote. Yes, over and over again in the comments. But this bill, this amendment is a very poorly worded amendment. That's going to have drastic negative affects on the services that do matter
