My therapist once said "growth is realizing that someone's inconsistency is a sign to step back, not a challenge to prove your worth" and i think y'all need to engrave this into your soul.
When you choose someone to build a future with, don't just pay attention to how they love you on their best days. Pay attention to who they become on their hardest ones.
Notice how they communicate when they're frustrated. How they treat people when they're exhausted. How they respond when life doesn't go their way. Watch how they carry responsibility, handle disappointment, and adapt when things change.
Because chemistry can spark a connection, but character is what sustains it.
The person you choose won't only share your happiest moments. They'll influence your everyday life, the conversations, the conflicts, the quiet evenings, the stressful seasons, and the decisions that shape your future.
Love is important. But peace, respect, maturity, and consistency are what make love a place you can actually live in.
You're not just choosing a partner.
You're choosing the environment your heart will live in every day.
