It isn't "political" that someone or a character exists that represents the real world.
It isn't "political" to just talk about and play a piece of media.
I know a lot of people are hurting right now. And I know a lot of us feel powerless, since frankly we are for are for anything meaningful for at least 2 years.
No one should be ashamed of needing to disconnect. To ignore the news right now.
But what we can do…
Unfortunately the wrong message has been sent to these companies. We have to make sure they are corrected.
Personally I have decided that many of the games I am going to play on my channel are the games that they are attacking.
Dragon Age, Avowed, and others.
@rockisinfinite Agreed. I don’t need much.
Nintendo games were beautiful looking on the switch but had performance issues. They have a fantastic art style and more polygons wouldn’t have made tears of the kingdom look any better. Framerate on the other hand…
@rockisinfinite I just wish they would stop announcing so far in advance.
It’s insane. No other software tried to set a date a year plus away for good reason.
I get why people want dates. But it just causes doom and gloom posts about delays.
@rockisinfinite Even if this does end up being the case...
This is bad... why exactly? The hardware is nearly identical, maybe we can actually start competing on what the hardware actually does/services (the OS).
PC parts are just fine competing on hardware (and marketing) alone.
@6ixDot_@PsnTimdog It doesn’t matter for nvidia and their graphics cards. Why should it matter for consoles?
Microsoft put office on Mac 1989. That didn’t kill Windows. Pretty sure Microsoft understands when they need to embrace competitors and what to keep to themselves.
@rtebbea@PsnTimdog Right?
Remember when nvidia needed exclusive games to sell their latest graphics card? 🙄
Shocking how something could sell on the merits (marketing) of the hardware alone.
It’s stupid to keep clinging to the status quo when it could be better.
@PsnTimdog There is absolutely zero reason that consoles can't be sold on their merits the same way PC components are.
Nvidia and AMD don't have exclusive games.
Games are getting more and more expensive to develop and the existing business model is unsustainable. See: layoffs.
@kidsmoove The way I see it, they are a third party publisher that just so happens to also make their own hardware.
It's as simple as that.
That same hardware powers xcloud which incentivizes future hardware development.
Outside of that, everything else is console war BS.
@rockisinfinite I did not know they put out a comment on it. I just found that...
That really complicates balancing.
I mean, I get wanting to let people play how they want. But, there should at least be a mode that forces some sort of structure.
Otherwise, why have the trinity.
@RobDaCool Why is it a bad thing that you don't need to buy 2 plastic boxes with nearly identical hardware?
Instead the consoles sell based on the hardware itself and services.
We don't see this with graphics cards on PC yet Nvidia and AMD are just fine.
@SpartanDusk@rockisinfinite I don't understand how people are arguing for anti-consumer practices. What they are pushing for is a good thing.
We have gotten so used to how consoles have previously sold that people are convinced it can't be run any other way. Which is wrong.
