@viktortinyo@UncleNorth1776@neevin Yeah and a studio making 24fps animations is going to charge a hell of a lot more than $250/sec so what's your point?
@YSuperfici62738@muzystar15 Are you stupid? That's per hour of animation, not per hour of work. To actually make an hour of animation would take thousands of hours.
@nightwave_x@yes_THE_Scarlet "For a million dollars you can hire a team of underpaid animators from a country with a much weaker currency"
Yeah, outsourcing labour to poorer countries saves money. You're very smart for discovering this.
@nightwave_x@cyberjudo Nobody is paying them a million dollars you fucking moron. They are paying a few hundred dollars for a few seconds of animation.
@MaksVern9383 Per hour of animation, not work. A single person working on an hour of animation like this would take over a decade, you fucking trumptard.
@MrRandomGe@ClawsFurHire 1. AoT animators are underpaid and live in Japan, which has a weak currency.
2. Long-form animation uses a lot of tricks to save on animation costs. An episode of AoT has a lot of stills and repeated frames; it's not constant motion that requires unique drawings.
@ShitpostRock@Anti_P0litical "If we proportinally (sic) increase both nothing changes"
Yeah no shit, Einstein. You arrive at that conclusion all on your own?
@imran_hanaf 1. Anime animators being underpaid is not a good thing.
2. They live in Japan where the local currency is extremely weak so you can't make a direct comparison without factoring in things like CoL.
@digitizedCascde@rowanfornow@SymbiontHost Are you stupid? They're charging per second of animation, not per second of work. 1 second of animation at just 12 fps is 12 drawings. If they can do 2/hr then they're really charging ~$42/hr of work.
@Real_Shrigma@KingOfAllOceans@ZERODMC5 If you average two drawings per hour then, at a standard work week of 40hrs/week, it would take over a decade to get to 43k drawings. I think $90k/yr is a reasonable wage for a full-time animator.
@ZERODMC5 Yeah, an hour of hand drawn animation would cost a lot of money because that would be a fuckton of drawings. At 12fps that's over 43k drawings. That would take years for a single artist to do.
