To be a leader on the world stage, exchange controls MUST be abolished. Crypto is borderless and should move freely.

That opens up more opportunities and hence more profit for investors. Leads to more capital coming into the country overall because money follows good policy.

You should mention ALL the issues in your fight for good policy, and not just the ones that suit you as a CEO of a local exchange. For example, you should recognise that being forced to trade on only local exchanges, is not actually good for the industry in South Africa. Try to think holistically.

Self custody is only half the battle. The other half is not being limited by transaction thresholds, and being able to participate in "offshore" markets the way crypto was intended. Crypto has no borders. Not to mention the danger of forced declarations and warrantless search and seizure.

In summary, I encourage you to focus on ALL the issues, and not just the ones that suit you as an exchange owner. Do the right thing. Fight the good fight that this industry deserves.
