@KathAntonio7 Star fox 64 most certainly wasn't going for realism, nor was star fox 2 or the original game if the in-game character portraits and the comic are anything to go by.
@SrcFreak@cinnabunsie@KathAntonio7 Depends on your definition of "new stuff"; cut content? Rarely ever happens. Actual new stuff? Happens fairly often like in FRLG, HGSS and ORAS.
@KathAntonio7 There's "change" and then there's throwing the baby out with the bathwater. These people act like change is inherently good when it's really on a case by case basis. MM and WW were different to OoT but still stuck to the formula.
@Moth865 perhaps there are games that do specific things better like graphics, story or even gameplay, but I don't think any games combine so many elements so effectively while at the same time being so cohesive.
@DAKKADAKKA1 Part of the reason Nintendo is so relevant is because they kept cultivating their kid/family-friendly brands, ensuring there will always be a younger generation of gamers to grow up with them. Both Sony and Microsoft failed to do this, instead dropping those IPs like a hot potato
@KathAntonio7 Will certainly be interesting to see how the Star Fox remake performs. Every other franchise broke records on the Switch, but this is a new console with a lower attachment rate, and Nintendo probably wants this one to be the best selling Star Fox, which I doubt it will be.
