Spain’s Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities shut down its electronic services on February 3, 2026, after a cyberattack claimed by a hacker known as “GordonFreeman”.

“As a result of a technical incident currently under assessment, the electronic headquarters of the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities has been partially closed.”

The ministry confirmed to OKDIARIO that it is a cyberattack, the scope of which is being investigated by the State Agency for Digital Administration and the National Cryptologic Center.
