Welcome to my high-level, beginner-friendly overview of the project that is @triaslab 🌐

Over the last few days, I have deep-dived into a lot of information and ultimately came to what I have detailed below. Basically, a high-level overview, but how I understand and interpret it. 📚

INTRODUCTION👋

It is easy to understand how this project can come across to the average crypto user as complex and difficult to understand. However, I am going to give it my shot at breaking it down and explaining how I have interpreted the information.

I won’t lie, there is a lot of information, and a lot of complex information at that. I found myself going down rabbit holes. so much so, it’s overwhelming to crunch it all down. I am also limited in what I can write.

Where one can build on explanation, by all means do!

All context and interpretations are based on materials reviewed from the sources provided, and where possible, I have recycled the information from Trias’s whitepaper.

OVERVIEW👀

In our increasingly digitised world, the reliance on machines introduces significant risks. Despite the default trust we place in computers, the internet, mobile phones, smart medical machines, smart home products, and various other technologies, the presence of untrusted elements poses threats such as data breaches, privacy infringements, and even potential harm to individuals and societal systems.

Trias aims to mitigate these risks by establishing a secure foundation for trust in machine behaviour.

Trias is a Full-stack decentralised, trusted cloud infrastructure and ecosystem for all-scale, general-purpose, and enterprise-ready applications.

With a fine and delicate design, a talented and solid team with a top academic and industrial background, a complex of enterprise products and solutions, and a sophisticated and sustainable token economy, Trias is fuelling industrial clients' innovation globally.

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION🧐

Problem: The new Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IAS) machine will become an indispensable infrastructure for human society. Consequently, the crisis in lacking trust to them will seriously affect our society’s stability. Trusting machines will become a new fundamental need for humanity in the near future.

Building the Trustworthy and Reliable IAS (TRIAS) will be the ultimate goal of project Trias.

Solution: Trias aims to solve the core 'Trust Issues'. Trias believes we can root trust into machines with a firm assurance that the machines will deterministically “do what they are told to do”.

TriasForce, a software complex developed by Trias team, is a Decentralised-SaaS (DSaaS) that ensures the trustworthiness of the underlying software.

Trias Force now has 3 products, TriasForce Auditing, TriasForce Security, and TriasForce ERP, providing blockchain-based services to clients over different industries.

UNDERSTANDING TRIAS🤯

Ok, here comes the hard part of reading all of this!

Trias is composed of three layers:

· Leviatom;
· Prometh; and
· MagCarta.

I know if you are like me, you are thinking, what in the hell are these? To help you, I am providing an “in simple terms” summary.

Leviatom is like the brain and backbone of Trias. It combines two important things: Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) and a fancy algorithm called Heterogeneous Consensus Graph.

Prometh is the super-smart detective of Trias. It uses a method called formal verification and something called DevSecOps to make sure the software (the programmes and apps) that people build on Trias are safe and trustworthy.

MagCarta is the rulebook or guide for how different groups in a big organisation agree on things. It helps create special rules (consensus strategies) for different tasks, like voting on decisions or sharing important information.

Separation-of-Powers Model

Trias also employs the use of a model know as the Separation of Powers. Separation-of-Powers model (Trias Politica). Separation-of-Powers is a political theory for social governance.

It advocates that the powers of execution, legislation and judiciary should be controlled by different organisations. They exercise independently and restrict each other.

To break this down even further:

· Leviatom is responsible for execution;
· Prometh is responsible for legislation; and
· MagCarta is responsible for judiciary.

Basically, Trias employs a system of separation of powers and checks and balances, where Prometh defines rules for Leviatom, MagCarta oversees their implementation, and each component works collaboratively to prevent any one part from gaining excessive influence.

Trias introduces a unique decentralisation model, using a Separation-of-Powers approach, to govern the cyberspace. By breaking down the monopoly of machine manufacturers and dynamically balancing three governance powers, Trias aims to establish a fairer and more just system, moving away from both fully centralised and fully decentralised structures.

Trias targets bringing trust to general-purpose software platforms instead of only ledger-related applications.

Trias aims at enabling a much wider range of usage scenarios, such as:

· Layer -1 (minus one) enhancement to public blockchains.
· Consensus-Oriented Enterprise Programming.
· Trusted operating systems and application ecosystem.
· Trustworthy Multi-Party Computation.
· Trustworthy Cloud Computing Platform.

The whole ecosystem includes chain developers and operators, service providers, developers, security service provides, distributors, insurers etc.

KEY FEATURES🔥

Some items are included below to highlight their existence. I could write entire pieces on these, so I wanted to mention some of the items.

Note: This list is not comprehensive and does not cover all other features announced (or to be released), etc.

Staking: The future economic model will also shift to generate new project tokens through TRIAS staking. Trias will also be used as gas fees in the current economic model. To incentivize participants of the Trias economy, Trias has designed two parallel staking models catering to the needs of both enterprises and individuals:

1) the Franchise-franchisee Model (for enterprises)
2) the Staking Auction Model (for individuals)

APY is determined by the demand of the market. The token holders benefit from participating in different staking cycles and receiving rewards. The rewards are generated from business activities, not from new-minted tokens, and therefore are non-inflationary.

An Example in the Staking Auction Model*

In this example, the staking reward is set to be 10,000 TRIAS. A softcap is fixed to determine the possible highest APY (annual percentage yield) and the hardcap is unlimited to accept anyone who wants to stake. If the softcap is set to be 100,000 TRIAS, the APY can be as high as 120% for a 30-day period of staking. If 100,000 TRIAS has been staked, APY is 120%, meaning if someone stakes 100 TRIAS will get 100 TRIAS as principal and 10 TRIAS as staking rewards at the end of the staking period. If 200,000 TRIAS has been staked, APY is 60%, meaning if someone stakes 100 TRIAS will get 100 TRIAS as principal and 5 TRIAS as staking rewards at the end of the staking period.

The staking pool follows the rule of “first come first serve”.

*The numbers are only meant for explanation. The actual rewarding rules will be announced before each staking program.

The Trias MagCarta Economic paper (version2.0) contains an in-depth explanation of Staking and rewards.

The revenue sharing and token buyback pool is designed to reward the Trias community. Unlike other staking mechanisms, which need to create inflationary rewards to attract stakers but without real value creation process in the economy to support the economic growth, Trias ties its staking programs to the circumstances, where there are generated revenues and increased demand for tokens from real business activities. As the activities are undergoing periodically, staking programs are open accordingly to ensure the health growth of the economy and the rewards to the community at the same time.

Burning Mechanism: A token burning mechanism has been designed with a staking auction model in accordance with the nature of the business activities. The revenues generated from sale of TriasForce and products, rent from the Trias infrastructure will be used to buy back the tokens and remove them from circulation.
